month 4: double the fun!

Month four has been a lot of fun, both for Aubrey, and especially for her parents.  We are so excited to see our little similing baby each morning before work, and each evening afterwards.   The transition from larvae newborn to baby is officially complete, and is evidenced by the fact that Aubrey has more than doubled her birth weight!  At her four month check-up, Aubrey weighed in at a staggering 14lbs 9oz (she was born 7lbs 2oz), and measured 24.5" (born: 20").  As you can imagine from those numbers, her place on the percentile charts has also changed.

As has been the case with most of my entries, I'm getting this 4 month post done just as soon as Aubrey is about to begin her fifth month.  Here are some of the things about Aubrey in month four:

  • Likes to hold on to one of our fingers while she's eating her bottle.
  • Still spits up a fair amount, and often.
  • Is desperately trying to roll over, especially in her sleep, which means a few night wakings here and there.
  • Sits in the moby wrap or baby bjorn facing forward instead of backward.
  • Tries to sit upright at any chance she gets, even though she's a wobbly, wiggly thing.
  • Tells stories (talks/coos).  A LOT.
  • Giggles and sqeals (if you can figure out what will do the trick that day)
  • Transitioned to 3-6 month clothes! (more in girth than length)
  • Bathed without the infant sling
  • Had a huge growth spurt
  • Visited with grandparents and friends
  • Had a weekend without mom and dad while they were in Tahoe
  • Avoided a nasty flu-bug that flattened mommy and daddy

Here are a few snapshots of Aubrey's fourth month, as well as some videos showing her extreme wiggliness, as well as her newfound laugh!
