arm rolls abound

We get a lot of comments on Aubrey's arm rolls--people seem to think they're cute so that's a plus. We certainly love them and will be sad to see them go as she continues to grow up and be more mobile etc. Here are some photos of her today, playing and crawling and sporting her infamous arm rolls!!

Aubrey has been sitting up on her own, and going from tummy to sitting for about two weeks now (maybe more? hard to keep track!).  Jason and I kept thinking that she would be crawling by now, but every time she's close to doing it, she just sits up and pivots instead.  It's pretty hilarious, actually.  We have been tempting her by putting intriguing toys just beyond her reach, which seems to work when BAM, there she goes, sitting up again!  Last night, we finally figure out what really motivates her: technology!  Jason was watching videos of mountain biking on his iPad while laying near Aubrey, and Aubrey decided that the iPad was WAY more interesting than any of the toys we scattered all around her ... and she went for it!  It's still a little clunky, but it's definitely crawling, and Aubrey definitely realized she can get around that way.  She continued to try out her new skills by going straight for things like the screen/sliding glass door, the cat, and of course the coffee table (large trunk) with iron bolts/handles and super pointy edges.  Figures!
